Double Sit on Top Kayak
If you like to paddle with the company of others then this is the best way to share the experience.
Especially suited to couples and families the double or tandem sit on kayak provides both space and buoyancy to carry two to three people depending their sizes.
Although heavier, doubles are lighter than two singles together and also generally less expensive as an option. They can be easilly carried by the two paddlers and put on the car roof or placed on a kayak trolley to pull up the beach.
Inheirently very buoyant they can carry all the gear you need for a days family expedition and because the paddling is shared, the journey can be less tiring, especially for less experienced paddlers. Because they generally have a more docile nature doubles are great for initiating the inexperienced when supervised correctly.
Most double sit on tops can be paddled by a single person sat in the middle or to the rear of the boat. This enables them to make great fishing platforms with all that deck space and stability.
